# Locations of EU Delegations

In 2024, there were **145 [EU Delegations](https://euemployment.eu/glossary/eu-delegations/)**(
diplomatic representations) around the world. 136 of these were to countries and
9 to international organizations.

This number does not include the **27 EU Representations**, which are offices representing
the [European Commission](https://euemployment.eu/glossary/european-commission/)
in EU Member States.

N.B. The number of [EU delegations](https://euemployment.eu/glossary/eu-delegations/)
is likely to decrease in 2025 or 2026 as the second [European Commission](https://euemployment.eu/glossary/european-commission/)
of [Ursula von der Leyen](https://euemployment.eu/von-der-leyen-salary/) is [contemplating plans to “optimize” EU’s external action](https://www.politico.eu/article/european-commission-eu-embassy-staff-africa-latin-america-eu-external-action-service-eeas-diplomacy/).
